He retained some influence until 1966, when <a href="https://academic.oup.com/jhered/article-abstract/56/5/229/870152/THE-DESCENT-OF-LYSENKO?redirectedFrom=fulltext" rel="nofollow">he was removed from his directorship of the Institute of Genetics of the Russian Academy</a>. But, based on <a href="http://insights.ovid.com/psyccritiques/psycc/1962/05/000/warmed-borscht/18/01258377" rel="nofollow">a 1962 review of <i>Soviet Psychology</i></a>, Lysenko's power over Soviet science had shrunk dramatically by the time this book was published.
