Those who have been reading this blog for a while may have noticed a lot of book reviews over the last decade focused on the history and development of activity theory: overviews, retrospectives, translated texts from the 1930s, etc. etc. I read these to help me better understand cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT) not just as a body of knowledge to help me understand the world, but also as a record of the theory's development -- including things that were abandoned as CHAT developed into what it is today.
These reviews led to what I think is a pretty interesting book, which will be published June 17. Check it out! I'm really excited to see it in print and to find out what others think of it.
